Kohima, November 10 (MExN): The Brand Ambassador cum Convener of North East NAMASTE States of Swachh Bharat Mission and Advisor to Chief Minister Arunachal Pradesh, Sotai Kri along with his 18 team members from Arunachal Pradesh and Assam visited Kohima under the banner 'Green Clean India Mission 2020' on November 10.
According to a DIPR report, the Brand Ambassador, Sotai Kri said that their purpose of visit was to create public awareness on the importance of having clean surroundings and proper sanitations starting at home. He informed that as being the brand ambassador of North East, he had toured Maghalaya, Tripura, Assam, Arunachal and reached Nagaland after which he will visit Manipur, Mizoram and Sikkim and further thanked the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi and Governor of Nagaland & National Brand Ambassador Swachh Bharat Mission, PB Acharya for giving them a chance to meet the people of North East through this Mission.
Stating that the Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) cannot do the job along without the participations of every individual concerned, Soati Kri called on all to take active part in their respective areas and to contribute towards achieving the goal of the Mission. He appreciated the KMC for doing a good job in keeping the city clean and further encouraged them to continue with their good work in future. He also added that the wards chairmen and members, students, government employees and the public needs to be fully sensitised for the success of the mission.
The visiting team in collaboration with the District Administration and Kohima Municipal Council Kohima led by the Brand Ambassador, Sotai Kri conducted a cleanliness drive in various locations of Kohima town. The cleanliness drive was conducted to sensitise and create awareness to keep the city and it's surrounding clean.
The Administrator KMC, Kovi Meyase expressed his thanks and gratitude to the brand ambassador and his team for their visit and added that their visit was a big message to the people of Kohima. The Administrator KMC also furnished the grievances faced by the municipality on being requested by the Brand Ambassador during their visit.
The Governor of Nagaland & National Brand Ambassador, PB Acharya also hosted a dinner for the visiting team at Raj Bhavan Kohima.
