Khriehu Liezietsu with medal winners and others during felicitation programme on November 29.
Kohima, November 30 (MExN): A grand felicitation programme was hosted by MLA Khriehu Liezietsu on November 29 at Hotel de oriental Grand, Kohima, for the medal winners, coaches and team managers from Kohima village at the recently concluded 2nd North East Olympic Games 2022 held in Shillong.
Speaking on the occasion, Khriehu Liezietsu called upon the sports lovers to carefully choose the sports discipline to take up as a profession and aim to reach and excel at the international arena as well.
Medoselhou Keretsü, former chairman of Kohima Village Council asked the players to be humble themselves before God for their achievements rather than seek gratification.
Vilieo Rutsa, former chairman KVC apprised the players that an aimless sports persons is as short lived as a rooster's, for which one should be dedicated and committed.
Later,Khriehu awarded cash incentive to the medal winners at the Olympics Games.
Neiketoulie Belho, who bagged 3 gold medals and "Best Athlete Men" title, was awarded with a cash award of Rs 1 lakh.
Cash award was also given to 18 players and coaches.
The programme was chaired by Ruokuo Kire, former president Kohima Village Youth Organization (KVYO). Seyiekruonuo Yhome enthralled the audience with a special number.
