Kohima, July 9 (MExN): Nine schools have been shortlisted in Kohima as per a survey by the School Education Department under NECTAR Project, Deputy Commissioner Kohima Shanavas C on July 8.
Accordingly, he also directed the LRSO (Land Revenue and Settlement Officer) Office to carry out the verification based on the survey and to submit the land details for onward submission to the government, a DIPR report said.
Shanavas gave the information during the first meeting of the Kohima District Committee for Lighthouse Schools (DCLS) under NECTAR Project at DC's Conference Hall, Kohima on July 8.
Chairing the meeting, the DC also informed that the main purpose of the committee was to ensure that proper procedures and guidelines for setting up the Lighthouse Schools in the district followed and further highlighted the roles and responsibilities of the committee.
Stating that the project was the first in Education to reach North-East India, the DC further sought for effective implementation of the project and the benefit of the people.
The District Education Officer, Kohima also gave a brief highlight on the selection process of the lighthouse schools complex conducted amongst the 24 Government High Schools and seven Government Higher Secondary Schools under Kohima.
Started in April 7, 2021 with the support from World Bank, Nagaland Education Project – The Lighthouse- Nagaland Enhancing Classroom Teaching and Resources (NECTAR) is a aimed at enhance the governance of schools across the state and improve teaching practices and learning environments in government schools.
