
Kohima, June 20 (MExN): The Nagaland Electrical Contractors’ Union (NECU) in its executive meeting held on June 10 in Kohima, has resolved that under no circumstances unauthorized party shall be allowed to undertake any electrical installation work in the state.
The meeting also resolved that any contractor found leasing out their writing pad to unauthorized person/party to undertake electrical work shall be dealt with as per Union resolution and shall be forwarded to Chief Electrical Inspector for cancellation of his/her registration. “For all electrical works in government buildings/ premises the concerned electrical contractor should produce a xerox copy of work order along with working estimate to the Union office failing which no test certificate will be passed/issued against the work,” another outcome of the meeting said. It also stated that the Union shall be very strict in issuing of test certificate to consumer‘s premises “hence consumers are requested to contact only genuine contractor having valid licence from power department for execution of the same.”
The meeting also constituted an action committee for the year 2009-2010 with Shikato Rotokha (Sun Electricals) as convenor. The members include Lhiwepe Khutsoh (Nagaland Builders), Beinyu Miachieo (Oking electricals), Neivotuo Yiese (Safty Electricals) and Nukusa T. Vadeo (RTV & Sons). The Union also appointed Babul Dutto (Supervisor) and Masun Ahmed (Supervisor) as NECU Inspector for Dimapur and Kohima respectively to check unauthorized electrical installation works. The Union also appointed the electrical division representatives; Nukusa T. Vadeo for Phek,Yanben Lotha- Wokha and S. Howing Konyak- Mon. This was stated in a release issued by the NECU general secretary Vizovolie Nyekha.
