DIMAPUR, AUGUST 7 (MExN): NEDFi has been awarded the Economic Times Govt Digitech Award 2023 in the category of education to students using digital solutions.
NEDFi won gold in this category for its Advancing North East initiative, which was initiated, conceptualised, and funded by the North Eastern Council, Ministry of DoNER. NEDFi is executing the portal and through the portal and its mobile app, NEDFi has been providing career mentoring support to 10 lakhs plus students of the NE region and also working on their capacity building in terms of employment and entrepreneurship. State governments of NER states have also joined hands with NEDFi in this endeavor.
The award has been instituted to recognise the innovative digital initiatives to governance and services on demand and also to empower citizens of the Central Ministries/Departments, State/UT Governments, Districts, Local Bodies, and Central & State Government Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) .
In this 4th edition of the award, 300 digital initiatives from 20 states of India have participated in 15 different categories of digital services. A jury constituted of former senior bureaucrats, notable personalities from industry and faculty from Indian Institute of Management has evaluated the initiatives on the criteria of innovation, relevance, impact, inclusivity and replicability.
On NEDFi's behalf the award was received by SK Baruah, Executive Director; Lemli Loyi, General Manager; and Prithviraj Neog, Assistant Manager, NEDFi in the award ceremony which was held at Grand Hayat, Goa on August 5.
