Training for community mobilization and sensitization held at Nerhe Model village
A one day training for community mobilization and sensitization on RTE Act 2009, roles and responsibilities of SMC, inclusive education, Special Training quality, civil works, Swachh Bharat, UDISE, CAL Social Audit Accounting and financial, Pedhe Bharat Badhe Bharat, ShaGun was held today at Nerhe Model Village in Kohima district.
Shilu Ao, Joint Director SCERT acted as the key resource person and talked on Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (RTE) Act, 2009.
The ‘Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act’ or ‘Right to Education Act’ is an Act of the Parliament of India enacted on August 4, 2009, which describes the modalities of the importance of free and compulsory education for children between 6 and 14 years of age in India under Article 21A of the Indian Constitution.
Shilu also talked on responsibilities of Village Education Committee (VEC), power and function of VECs under communitisation of elementary education in Nagaland.
He stressed on the need to put a collective effort and meet the various challenges ahead for overall progress of education in the State.
Visayieca Angami, SDEO, Chiephobozou urged upon the School Management Committee (SMC) to monitor all activities in schools and also to judiciously utilize the grants and funds received from government for development of school.
Theyievilie, Deputy Mission Director SSA Nagaland spoke about the responsibilities of SMC members and teachers and urged them to give their best service for the overall growth of education.
Thongsenlo, Assistant District Coordinator DMA,SSA Kohima encouraged the community leaders stating they are most efficient persons selected to manage the school by the village in their community.
In this, he urged the SMC and teachers to be truthful as they are dealing with human resource for our future generation.
