Need for evaluation reforms in Nagaland

Kohima, October 11 (MExN): A consensus about the real need for evaluation reforms in higher education in Nagaland was reached at the recently concluded seminar on Evaluation Process in Nagaland. This was emerged from the deliberations and discussions and ideas proposed by various members of the panel and other participants during the panel discussion at the seminar.

The seminar resolved that the evaluation process in the Nagaland higher education needs immediate reformation, the areas for reforms be identified, researched, developed and implemented at the earliest, “that the Nagaland University constitute A Task Force which will initiate the reform process at the earliest and that the Nagaland University establish an Academy College at the earliest.”

It was reaffirmed by the House that the Committee of Principals constituted by Nagaland University will take responsibility to move and expedite the resolutions, especially ay the university level. The Committee members include C. Khalong Ao, principal, Kohima College, Dr. P.S. Lorin, principal Tetso College, Dr. Vituo Belho, principal Kohima Science College Jotsoma and Kuholi Chishi, principal, Fazl Ali College.

It may be recalled that the seminar held on October 7 last, was organized by the Nagaland College Principals Forum, All Nagaland College Students’ Union and Kohima College. 120 delegates from various colleges of Nagaland comprising of principals and faculty members and students leaders from ANCSU and NSF attended the seminar.
