BJP Nagaland vice president K. James Vizo today stressed on the need to re-visit the Common Minimum Programme (CMP) of the Democratic Alliance of Nagaland (DAN) and to pursue the same with renewed vigour for the benefit of the people of Nagaland.

Speaking at the thanksgiving service of two years completion of DAN government under Chief Minister TR Zeliang here at State Banquet Hall, Vizo also stressed on the need to have a transparent system of sharing resources, be it LADF or other funds between alliance partners. He said the BJP on its part will work concertedly to enable projects/proposals to be cleared or sanctioned in the central ministries.

Also stating that presently, under the state government, no appointment of BJP members have been made in public sector undertakings or other government agencies, the vice president appealed to accommodate the BJP members. “This will further bring the alliance partners closer, working hand in hand.”

Pointing out the change of funding pattern from government, doing away of the planning commission and the shortage of funds even for meeting the expenditure for 10% state share for centrally sponsorship schemes, and the accumulated State deficit, he assured that BJP will join in the effort to overcome whatever difficulties the government of the day is facing.

Vizo also expressed happiness that the Naga political problem is being given priority by the BJP led NDA government at the Centre and the state government is playing proactive role to facilitate settlement of the vexed Naga political problem.

“The signing of the framework Agreement is certainly a positive step in this regard,” he said and hoped that during NDA regime in the Centre and the DAN regime in the state, a permanent settlement, honorable and acceptable to the Naga people, can be arrived at.

Further, the vice president hoped that the problems within the NPF will be settled early and that the DAN alliance will grow stronger in the days ahead and the DAN government will be able to deliver good governance, development, prosperity, unity, peace and harmony to the people of Nagaland.
