Zunheboto, June 24 (MExN): District Programme Officer for Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD), Zunheboto Dr N Mhonchan Kithan has advised people to healthy lifestyle, have more physical activity and minimise intake of common salt.
A press release from DPO, NCD Zunheboto stated that he was speaking during the two day awareness cum medical health camp was held at Phushumi village under Akuluto block, Shoipu village and Tukunasami village under Satakha block, Zunheboto held on June 22 and June 23. Dr Kithan spoke on stroke, hypertension, diabetes meltitus, obesity and preventive measures. He also emphasized on the importance of regular health checkup, screening of blood pressure, blood sugar and availing treatment on time.
Ado, National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP), Zunheboto highlighted preventive measures and treatment of malaria, dengue and Japanese encephalitis.
During the two day programme, blood pressure checkup, blood sugar test, rapid diagnostic test and blood smear test for malaria was conducted.
Around 200 patients availed the free health services. Both the village council leaders and members of Shoipu and Tukunasami villages extended gratitude to the medical department for organizing the awareness cum medical camp. The awareness cum health camp was attended by Dr Mughakha, medical officer, VK PHC, NVBDCP staffs, NLEP staffs, Shoipu HWC staffs, ASHAs.
