Need to promote and work for development of Hindi

Dimapur, March 7 (MExN): A three days national seminar was organized from March 2 to 4 on the theme ‘Usage and problems of technical words in humanity/social science in academic subject’ at SCERT Kohima by Commission for Scientific & Technical Terminology (CSTT), Ministry of Human Resource development, (Department of Higher Education) New Delhi in coordination with State Council of Educational Research & Training, Nagaland, stated a press release. 

All together 45 participants and eight resource persons from north east region from different professions and departments participated in the seminar. Program in charge, Umakant Khubalkar, Asst. Director, CSTT MHRD New Delhi,  

Khubalkar stated, “Objectives of the commission was to maintain uniformity, avoid confusion, standardization and popularization of terminology to have command over Hindi the official language of India or modern Indian languages so that we can be acquainted with the equivalents coined. Further, officers and ministerial staff of different institutions and scientists face problems in using technical terms.  They also need to be properly oriented with technical to prepare glossary of the scientific and technical terminology in Hindi or schedule or non schedule modern Indian languages.” 

SCERT Director Vipralhou Kesiezie addressing in the seminar said, “Hindi is a beautiful language, it is widely understood by a large population in the world, it represents the world’s one of the early civilization, therefore we must preserve, promote and work for the development of Hindi.”

T. Sekhose, Jt. Director SCERT also expressed the importance of Hindi in present context, which was not given due importance in the past stating the reason may be various.
