Governor of Nagaland inducted as 14th Chief Patron of NSBSG

Governor of Nagaland, La Ganesan today asserted the need for taking the activities of Bharat Scouts and Guides to the remote and far-flung areas of the State to bring maximum possible number of youth under its ambit.
He was speaking during his Induction Ceremony as the 14th Chief Patron of the Nagaland State Bharat Scouts and Guides (NSBSG) was held here at Raj Bhavan, Imkongliba Ao Hall on June 30.
“Scouting & Guiding revolves with the community and it aims to contribute positively to make our world a better place to live in,” he stated.
While expressing happiness for being inducted as the Chief Patron of NSBSG and to be amongst this group of Scouts & Guides of Nagaland, Ganesan urged upon them to become ambassadors of peace and spread the virtues of mutual respect and brotherhood in our society.
“I am confident that the Nagaland State Bharat Scouts and Guides Movement can effectively provide leadership where it is needed,” he added.
The governor also said he is happy that this movement is playing an active and important role in shaping the character of the youth of Nagaland and contributing to strengthen communal harmony, amity, secularism so that the State marches ahead on the path of progress and prosperity in a peaceful atmosphere.
With the formation of the Nagaland State Bharat Scouts and Guides Association in 1967 and with its pioneers sowing the seeds, the governor noted that it has spread to different corners of the State.
He further lauded every member of NSBSG for the selfless service to the state and nation by undertaking many activities and projects which involve youth to create awareness in being a responsible citizen and giving to the community.
The governor also wished that the Bharat Scouts & Guides Movement will be self reliant, value based, quality oriented, well managed, offering innovative and challenging programme based on the needs of the young people.
State Organizing Commissioner (Scout) John Tochimong presided the Induction Ceremony. The welcome address was delivered by S Keoshu Yimkhiung, Advisor Youth resources and sports and President NSBSG. He expressed happiness over having a Head of state to be one amongst the great brotherhood of Scouts which is a movement spread 216 countries with over 56 million members.
Earlier, State Organizing Commissioner, Guides Vimezhonu was the compere. VK Shah State Commissioner (Scout) NSBSG pronounced the vote of thanks.
