Doyang Hydro Power Station of NEEPCO conducted a seminar and workshop for women employees and others on March 23.

Wokha, March 23 (MExN): The Doyang Hydro Power Station of NEEPCO conducted a seminar and workshop on women empowerment and women’s health for the women employees of NEEPCO and its associated organisation viz CISF, VKV & SBI and also for the local women’s residing around Doyang Hydro on March 23.
The prime objective of the programme was to help women adopt a life of holistic wellness for their all-round being, Er K Zachamo Ovung, Manager (C), O/o HOP, DHPS, NEEPCO Limited, Doyang stated in a press release. It was held as part of the weeklong women’s day celebration.
The special guest, Rozy Sangtam, EAC Wokha spoke about empowering women and highlighted that equality does not mean physical equality but cerebral equality. Also in the name of patriarchy and traditional laws, we also need to check if it is violating human rights and we should also give a space for reflection on such laws.
The resource person, Bokatoli Sumi, Counselling Psychologist from Serendip Guardian spoke about the women’s mental health and wellbeing in relation to reproductive health, stress, trauma, suicide and ended with self care activities. The women folks were engaged into activities like adult colouring, breathing exercise and self-reflection questions. She further emphasized and encouraged working on self-care plan.
While concluding the event, Head of the Plant, Doyang HPS, Er Ch R John Zeliang thanked the partakers and expressed that for bringing women empowerment, men also plays an equal and pivotal role.
