There was countless vision of hope when the department and authorities concerned started repairing in some parts of the town early last year. However, inhabitants of Khuwoboto and North Point were left saddened when the road construction did not take the directions towards the area which is also leading to the ONLY Government Arts College in Zunheboto District.
There is no disagreement from any individual on how dangerous the potholes are becoming for the commuters. The road condition from Khuwoboto colony via North Point Colony to Government College Zunheboto is in a pathetic condition with lots of pot holes where it has become dangerous for both the vehicles and the pedestrian/public. Here accidents are very prone due to the bad road condition. It’s high time the public of Zunheboto, leaving their political differences aside, raise the issue as a concern citizen about the deplorable road condition to Government College Zunheboto with the concern department. It is sad to say that but the only Government Arts College in the whole district has the worse road condition. Who is answerable for such a pathetic road conditions leading to Government College Zunheboto? is an interrogation that needs responsiveness. Here, I don’t want to blame the government /elected representative alone. We the Voters are likewise responsible for it. Since, it is during election we ask for cash and We don’t worry about the development or what will happen in the next five years and at the end we curse the elected representative or the govt. However, Pot holes and water logging in these area are creating chaos for commuters, especially vehicles with low ground clearance. Besides, it has become possibly dangerous as Vehicles try to navigate towards the well portion of the road, not worried that they are driving on the wrong side. The amount of damage in most areas is exceedingly bad and it is a wonder the department is slumbering over it. The roads are getting worse by the day and the concern authorities needs to emphasized in maintain existing roads in a better way since the condition of the road is that severe that now even small cars are unable to travel on it.
Many years have gone without the proper maintenance of road. The residents have stopped complaining about bumpy rides, accidents and flooding. It is the same story or the worse every year. The Only Government College road is like our corrupted Nagaland government right now, words cannot express how bad it is and Come Monsoon season, the roads will turn into waterways, main road leading to college will turn into fishery pond, landslide, mudslide etc are regular features. Unless, the responsible department apply the modification measures, the worst is yet to experience during monsoon.
