NEIAPA inks deal with JCKRC Spa Destination

DIMAPUR, JULY 20 (MExN): Dimapur based North East India Academy of Performing Arts (NEIAPA) inked a deal with JCKRC Spa Destination Pvt Ltd. The venture promises to act as a launch pad for people aspiring to get a foothold in the lucrative beauty industry. Co-founders of JCKRC Rekha Chaudhari and JC Kapur were in Dimapur on Wednesday, July 20 to make a formal announcement and complete the necessary formality of sealing the agreement on paper. They were accompanied by model-actor Kelly Dorjee, who has been associated with the academy since its inception as a visiting celebrity faculty. Managing Director of NEIAPA, Akuonuo Khezhie signed on behalf of the academy.
JCKRC, founded in 2007 is a joint venture between Chaudhari and Kapur. The former is an acclaimed professional in aesthetics care and cosmetics with spa treatment as her specialty. She also has a number of international accolades under her belt while Kapur, after years of successful enterprise in the hospitality sector ventured into the cosmetics business. Their venture in a somewhat uncharted territory pioneered in transforming the spa industry in India. Today, the company holds a strong reputation in the cosmetics sector of India; importing, distributing and marketing top-of-the-line American and European cosmetic brands.
The main facet of the deal is JCKRC positioning itself as a placer for trainees who pass out from the academy. NEIAPA offers professional courses on make-up, hair, spa, beauty, modeling and styling. With JCKRC having tie-ups with more than twenty international cosmetic brands as well as with the spa industry, it promises job guarantee to beauty therapists who pass out from the academy.
Holding a joint press conference following the signing, Chaudhari said the prospect of getting placed in reputed star hotels and A-Plus spas is very high. According to her, most of the beauty therapists working in the mainland are from the north east. Thus, “we decided to come here and do something.” Finding job placements without tie-ups is very difficult, she said. Kapur echoed a similar observation. The basic idea is to put emphasis on training and education, he said.
Kelly Dorjee expressed appreciation to the company for recognizing the potential of the north east in the beauty industry. In his position a visiting faculty, Dorjee said of the academy that it offers individual vocational training in aspects of their choice. NEIAPA is a private enterprise established only this year in the month of April and is supported by the government of Nagaland. Classes for the first batch of trainees have started this month. The second batch is set to begin classes from August.
