Dimapur, December 18 (MExN): The Alumni Association of the North-East Institute of Social Science and Research (NEISSR) has asserted that it stands in support of individuals or groups who voice out for peace and equality and stands against any injustice. Against the backdrop of the incident where ACAUT Nagaland members were imprisoned recently, the association stated it is “aggrieved by the situation where the good citizens seeking for justice are being imprisoned.” It also voiced out against the corruption(s) prevailing in our society. In a press release, it further asserted that the following ethics and cultures of the society have been breached: “The search for justice has been suppressed; The culture of the peaceful assembly of citizens is threatened with fear; The prior duty of the government to govern its people with justice is far more questionable; The genuineness of the government is at stake.” The alumni also stated if at all the government would like to run the State with an icon of justice, then the government must first learn to respect and treat everyone equally with justice and not according to its own whims and fancies. “As long as injustice prevails and justice not delivered, the association will stand for the truth for the rights of the people and strongly stand against corruption and injustice.”
