NEISSR team attends youth employability & empowerment prog

Dimapur, February 22 (MExN): A team of 39 Master of Social Work trainees and faculties from North East Institute of Social Science and Research (NEISSR), Dimapur attended two-day training programme on ‘Youth Employability & Youth Empowerment’ at the Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development (RGNIYD), Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu on February 6 and 7.  

The programme was inaugurated by Dr A. Chandra Mohan, Registrar, RGNIYD. The training programme covers various aspects such as youth leadership and personality development, effective communication skills, gender and media, youth and entrepreneurship, youth and employability skills and gender equity.  

The resource persons for the training programme were Dr S. Kumaravel, Dr. T. Gopinath, Dr. Sharmistha Battarcharya, Dr. I. Balu, Dr. M. Suresh Kumar and Avinu Veronica Richa.  

Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development (RGNIYD), is an Institution of national Importance under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, which acts as the vital resource centre with its multi-faceted functions of offering academic programmes at Post Graduate level encompassing various dimensions of youth development, engaging in seminal research in the vital areas of youth development and coordinating Training Programmes for state agencies and the officials of youth organisation, besides the Extension and Outreach initiatives across the country.  

The Institute functions as a think-tank of the Ministry and premier organization of youth-related activities in the country.
