NER Agri Expo - waiting for returnees

A banner put up to welcome returnees at NER Agri Expo 4th Mile, Dimapur. A total of around 1,477 Nagaland citizens are expected to arrive at Dimapur Railway Station on May 22 via a special train from Chennai. The returnees will be taken to the site upon their arrival. Consequently, the district administration and the police have imposed a virtual lockdown of Dimapur from 1 hour prior to the scheduled arrival. All vehicular movements are totally restricted from 12 noon till 4 hours after arrival of the special train. All shops and markets are closed from 12 noon to midnight of May 22. Dimapur will quarantine those returnees belonging to Peren and Mon districts besides Dimapur district, while Kohima will quarantine those returnees whose destinations are Kohima, Wokha, Mokokchung, Longleng, Tuensang, Kiphire, Phek and Zunheboto for a “few days of observation and screening.” (Morung Photo)
