Kohima, June 23 (DIPR): The Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer Kohima, Rovilatuo Mor, IAS has issued a press release informing the general public of Kohima district that as part of National Electoral Rolls Purification drive, the “Third Special Camp” will be organized in all the polling station locations for making enrolment, deletion, correction and transposition in the Electoral roll from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM on June 25.
He informed that fresh enrolment of names in the electoral roll will be done for those genuine Indian Citizen who have attained 18 years and above as on 01.01.2016, is ordinarily resident in that polling station/constituency and who have not enrolled name anywhere or in other polling station (s).
Deletion of name of voters who are dead, shifted, absentee, multiple entries; correction of particulars and replacement of photo and transfer application will be done. For making correction of particulars and replacement of photo, the old EPIC (Electors photo Identity Card) should be returned back while submitting the application form.
Following are the required Forms; Form-6 for fresh enrolment of general voters, Form-6A for Overseas (NRIs) voters, Form-7 for deletion/objection, Form-8 for correction and Form-8A for transposition. All application should be accompanied by relevant documentary proof as prescribed in the forms.
The DC & DEO, Kohima further informed that on this Special Camp day the Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will be seated in their respective polling station with the current electoral roll and application forms to entertain the public and receive application forms. Therefore the public has been informed to contact their polling station BLOs and visit their polling station location to check name in electoral roll and file appropriate application form. For person having multiple enrollment in electoral rolls in different places or same place have been requested to retain name only in one place and make voluntary deletion in other place (s). The Village Councils, Town Ward Panchayat, political parties, churches, students, all other NGOs/Civil Societies and Government officials have been requested to extend all possible help to their polling station Booth Level Officer (BLO) in this drive for purification of electoral roll.
The Fourth and Fifth Special Camp will also be organised on July 9 and 23. The public have been informed and requested to visit the office of the District Election Officer anytime on all working days to verify their enrolment status in electoral roll and also invited positive and constructive suggestions/innovative ideas in the campaign for purification of electoral roll from all concerned citizens and stakeholders.
