North East Students’ Organization Jalandhar newly elected office bearers along with nominating committee.
Jalandhar, OCTOBER 19 (MExN): The North East Students’ Organisation Jalandhar (NESOJ) held its 8th general election on October 16 at Hops Lawgate, Punjab. The even witnessed the selection of new office bearers who will lead the organisation for the term 2023-2024.
According to a press release issued by Media & Publicity Secretary, Yirmei Zimik, the pivotal election brought together representatives from all eight North-East states and the process was meticulously supervised by the nominating committee led by Nganaomi Zingkhai as chairperson and Thaiba Reinai and Abhinav Tenzing as members.
The 2023-2024 team will be led by Himan Debbarma as president, Gebi Jebisow as vice president, Archita Dutta as general secretary, Stuti Sharma as assistant general secretary, Bangben Shukha as finance secretary, Oryan Lama Tamang as assistant finance secretary, Alicia Kharbuki as cultural secretary, Raya Debbarma as assistant cultural secretary, Munjong Rongpi as sports secretary, Nanu Jerang as assistant sports secretary, K Lalramdinpuii as women’s secretary, Yirmei Zimik as media and publicity secretary, Sylvia Moirangthem as literary secretary, VL Remruatpuai as assistant literary secretary, Bishwanath Sharma Aribam as information and database secretary and Chantre Toi as assistant information and database secretary.
NESOJ, established in 2013 with the motto "Integrity, Prosperity, and Excellence," is unwavering in its commitment to represent and support the interests of North-Eastern students in Jalandhar, Punjab. The organisation's core mission is to foster a sense of community and unity among its members, the press release maintained.
The election proceedings culminated in an oath-taking ceremony officiated by Pastor Tiaakum Ozukum, symbolizing the unwavering commitment of the newly elected office bearers to serve NESOJ and its members diligently.
Himan Debbarma, the newly elected NESOJ president extended his gratitude towards all the members and also expressed his keen desire to organise the two mega event-namely North East Sports Meet & North East Fiesta in more innovative and better way during his tenure.
