New book ‘Let the Broken Lead’ released

Kohima, December 2 (MExN): Hiekha Coaching Centre hosted a Pre-Christmas cum book launch programme on December 1, marking the release of the debut book ‘Let the Broken Lead’ by youth advocate Pele George.

The event saw participation from students, educators, writers, and community members, state a press release. Social and peace activist Niketu Iralu, an LOFC Lifetime Achievement Awardee, attended as the special guest.

In his welcome address, Kejalhuto Punyu, Proprietor of Hiekha Coaching Centre, emphasised the importance of creating platforms to uplift young voices and support personal development.

The book is published by 6th Finger Publishers, Kohima. “The book is a solidarity to youths undergoing struggles and challenges in life,” said Sentinaro Longkumer, Editor-in-Chief of 6th Finger Publishers, in her publisher’s note. She acknowledged the author’s “sincerity, discipline, and dedication” in completing the work.

Author Pele George stated that the book draws from real-life struggles faced by many young people in Nagaland, including emotional pain, anxiety, addiction, and identity challenges.

He noted the work aims to encourage resilience, support youth with internal struggles, offer a relatable voice, and spark meaningful conversations.

The programme concluded with a closing prayer by Christina James, the author’s mother, who reflected on her son’s journey and perseverance during the writing process. A book signing and refreshments followed.

 ‘Let the Broken Lead’ is currently available at Hiekha Coaching Centre and the author’s residence. It will soon be stocked in bookstores across Nagaland and on online platforms for wider access.
