New DTO Complex inaugurated in Dimapur

Dimapur, April 7 (MExN): The newly constructed District Transport Office (DTO) Complex at Model Colony, Purana Bazaar near the ISTT Complex in Dimapur was inaugurated on April 7.

Advisor for Transport & Technical Education, Temjenmenba, inaugurated the facility and stated that the new complex would enhance transport administration and public service delivery. He said that with the completion of the building, the responsibility now lies with the department to ensure effective utilisation for public benefit.

He noted that the Transport Department is one of the major revenue-generating departments in the state and highlighted the importance of public interaction, stating that officials must guide citizens properly and ensure timely completion of services. He called for professionalism, transparency, and efficient service delivery.

The Advisor thanked the General Manager of NST for providing land for the project and said the arrangement would benefit both departments. He also said the office has the potential to emerge as a centre of excellence and highlighted Dimapur’s role as the gateway to Nagaland, adding that the office is expected to witness heavy public footfall.

Commissioner & Secretary, Transport, Robert Longchari, described the inauguration as the beginning of a renewed commitment to efficient and transparent service delivery. He stated that the new facility reflects efforts toward modernisation and improved infrastructure.

Executive Engineer, NST, Er Renben Kikon, informed that the project was completed at a cost of ₹499.86 lakh on a land area of 19,200 sq ft. The project, sanctioned in 2022–23, was completed ahead of schedule within 28 months.

The complex includes a two-storey building with sections for vehicle registration and driving licence issuance, office rooms, conference hall, record storage, parking yard, pollution testing unit, and other supporting facilities.
