New Health sub-centre at Seithekema

Dimapur, April 7 (DIPR): Deputy Commissioner Dimapur Maongwati Aier, who was the chief guest at the inaugural function of the new health sub-center building congratulated the people of Seithekema and its adjoining six Villages for constructing the much needed Health Sub-Centre through their joint efforts of the Villages Council and Village Health Committee (VHC). He said that those people involved in the construction of this Sub centre needs to be appreciated for utilizing the limited fund judiciously. The DC commented that the building has been constructed beyond expectation. He appeals to the people of the area to utilize the centre for proper health care. He enlightened the gathering by saying that nowadays ailment like HIV/AIDS, T.B and Leprosy etc are being treated through Herbal and Ayurvedic product but old habits of going to quack or other alternative need to give up which is hazardous for health. He also said that Seithekema is one of the upcoming areas in terms of development and very shortly the area will be upgraded to EAC headquarter which will be inaugurated by Chief Minister of Nagaland Neiphiu Rio.
While highlighting the construction report Rtd Sr. Pharmacist Medochuno Elah said that the building has been constructed at the cost of Rs. five lakhs, having four rooms. The layout plan was designed to facilitate with ANM residence under RCH guidelines and programme. The centre is constructed through join efforts of the seven village councils, VHC and Department of Health and Family Welfare.
Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dimapur Dr. Sukhato Sema in his short speech urged the staff who are posted there to give twenty-four hours service to the people. He also urged the public to avail the facilities provided by the Government. He called on expecting mothers to seek the nearest hospital for delivery saying that delivery at home is hazardous for both mother and infant. The function was chaired by Rokoneivi Thepa, Council Chairman Seithekema ‘A’.
