New Market Colony Jalukie expels one for rape attempt

Jalukie: Pouzendai residing at New Market Colony, Jalukie Town reportedly attempted rape on a woman while she was on her way to market in broad daylight at around 4:30 pm. At the protest of the victim, the accused tried to escape from the scene, however, passerby caught him after a long chase.

While condemning the heinous crime committed by the accused “which has no place in the civilized society,” the New Market Colony, Jalukie Town has penalised and expelled  Pouzendai  as per the law of the soil (Jalukie Customary Law) for 3 years with immediate effect from the jurisdiction of Old Jalukie Village.

A press release from chairman, New Market Colony, Jalukie Town, Namgumbe cautioned that in the events of any breach of customary practices on the part of the accused and whoever shelter him, they will be fully held responsible for any untoward incidents if so happen.

Further, the residents of New Market Colony warned that any person(s) involved in “anti-social” activities shall be dealt with stern action  to uphold the sanctity of the colony in particular and  the denizens of Jalukie town in  general.
