With positive indication from the Dimapur District authorities for reopening its market, the business community of the Market undertook social work led by Ward no 19 GB, Khekishe Aye.
“Today, we have cleaned all shops and sanitized the entire market for the safety of the business community and the public who would be visiting our market. As and when the market opens for public, we have instructed all shop owners to strictly follow all precautionary measures like wearing masks, keeping hand sanitizers, maintaining social distance etc and any other directives from the authorities,” he said.
The GB said that all nook and corner of the market has been sanitized with spray machines. He thanked the DMC for clearing drainage in the market. Besides sponsoring all cleanliness activities in the market on June 17, the GB also distributed face masks and gloves more than 1500 of each items to the shop owners.
Meanwhile, Khekishe also said that owing to closure of the market for the last 87 days, goods worth lakhs of rupees have been lost. However, he also expressed happiness at the positive indication from the authorities.
