New SBI branch premises inaugurated in Jalukie

Dimapur, June 9 (MExN): After few days of inaugurating ATM in Peren town, the new premises of SBI Jalukie branch was also formally inaugurated at Jalukie Wednesday, June 8 by TR Zeliang, Minister Government of Nagaland.
In his welcome address, A.K. Das, Asst. General Manager SBI Regional Business Office Dimapur acknowledged the agricultural potential of the district and envisaged for a bigger agricultural extension project in the district. With a view to educate and explain various entrepreneurship avenues and loans by the SBI, he also assured to conduct a Financial Literacy Campaign in Jalukie while also distributing hand-outs and flyers in the major local dialects of the district within a month’s time.
B.J Sharma, General Manager, Network-II, SBI Local head office Guwahati, in his speech deliberated on the commitment of SBI for the welfare of Jalukie and neighboring villages while also urging them to go big by opting for a commercial subsistence not domestic subsistence production. Sky is the limit, but a culture of engagement of relationship with bank for all seasons to come is essential, he said while stressing on the need for continued relationship through honesty and understanding.
The Chief Guest, in line with the policy of financial coverage for every village with 2000 population, appealed with the SBI to financially cover Tening, Ngwalwa, Athibung, Nsong and even Samziuram village with the outlook of catering to the needs of the people. He also urged the SBI to fully explain feasible schemes to the people as most of them are honest but ignorant of such facilities. The chief guest while emphasizing on the must of a relationship with SBI, decried on the public folly of taking private loans on a monthly high interest rates while the bank is willing to provide the same with yearly interest in almost the same rate. He also encouraged the people to bank their proceeds in their home bank accounts and not elsewhere.
The inauguration programme which was also attended by the DC Peren, Officers and public leaders, was chaired by Jamithung Lotha (NCS) SDO (civil) jalukie. Vote of thanks was given by L. Singsit, Branch Manager, SBI Jalukie.
