Nagaland School Education & SCERT Advisor, Dr Kekhrielhoulie Yhome today inaugurated a new school building of PM Shri Government Middle School at L. Khel, Kohima village. This new school building was constructed under Samagra Shiksha 2023-24.
This school was established in 1958.
Gracing the inaugural function as the special guest, Dr Yhome lauded the efforts of the community in strengthening the school infrastructure and also urged upon them to renew its commitment to improve government schools in Nagaland.
Dr Yhome acknowledged the engineers and community participation towards the quality work . He also emphasized the importance of providing a conducive learning environment for students.
Praying for continued progress of the school, Dr Yhome was optimistic that this new building will serve well its purpose and continue to nurture the students to become responsible citizens and lead the society one day.
Highlighting the school’s legacy, Dr Yhome commended PM Shri GMS, L. Khel, for producing many prominent personalities.
He announced that the Department of School Education will soon sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to accord admission on priority for students belonging to government schools into government higher secondary institutions.
School Education Director Razouseyi Vese acknowledged Dr Yhome for his guidance and commitment towards the growth and transformation of the educational system in the state. “When the school authorities, teachers, parents, and the department work together, we can build a strong educational ecosystem,” he insisted.
Ayie Yhome, Chairman, Lhisemia Council expressed happiness over the execution of the new school building. He also made a fervent plea to the department to upgrade the school into a high school level.
Earlier, Rev. Keviyiekielie Linyü, Pastor, Ebenezer Baptist Church pronounced dedicatory prayer. The event was chaired by Neingusalie Khruomo, Treasurer, Building Committee while welcome address was delivered by Keneingu Rutsa, Head Teacher, GMS L. Khel. Vikhweno Chale, Additional Secretary, School Education, Government of Nagaland, officials from Samagra Shiksha Nagaland also present at the inaugural function.
