New Sibrai temple inaugurated in Dhansiripar village

Nagaland Governor, PB Acharya, accompanied by his wife Kavita Acharya inaugurated the new Sibrai (Shiva) temple at Dhansiripar village on June 17. 

The temple was constructed through financial assistance from Ramakrishna Welfare Trust, Surat (Gujarat).

The Governor in his address as chief guest said “Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants the North Eastern states to be at par with other states of the country try. The rationale behind Modi's vision is that unless every part of the country is strong and the fruits of independence reach every part of the society, India cannot be called a strong country.”

The Governor was of the view that while religion is a personal choice in a democratic country, education is of the utmost importance for any country to march ahead.

He also observed that though Christians are a minority in India, nevertheless a Christian state like Nagaland with only 20 lakh populations still managed to set up colleges and universities

Acharya also said Nagaland state being endowed with abundant resources, the state overtake other states in terms of development and prosperity if it utilize its resources to the, optimum. At the same time, Acharya lamented that due to communication gap, many people are still ignorant about this part of the country.

The Governor further underscored on the importance to one’s own mother tongue, which ultimately defines one’s identity. 

President, Sibrai (Shiva) temple construction committee, Dhansiripar, Kishore Jeedung, in his brief introduction on history of construction of the temple attributed late Govind Bhai Dholakia as the person who came up with the thought of construction of the Sibrai temple in the year 2010. 

The construction started on November 7, 2011 led by Kishore as president of the construction committee and late Kamleshwar Haflongbar as secretary of committee.
