New twist to Sept 25 attempt-to-murder case

Dimapur, September 29 (MExN): An organization, Kikruma Union of Dimapur, today gave a new twist to the reported September 25 alleged attempt of a person to murder his wife. In fact, the union said, the wife, one Lothungbeni Kikon “led a promiscuous and adulterous life leading to the unfortunate family scuffle.”  According to the union, “allegation of very serious nature have been levelled against Thiputokezo by the family members of his own wife, Lothungbeni Kikon, daughter of Motsuthung Kikon of Tsungiki village permanently settled at PWD colony Wokha, claiming that her husband attempted to murder her.
The allegation was published in the local newspapers on September 28 and 29.” A note from the Kikruma Union said the organization has “gone through all details and causes’ leading to the incident from the husband’s side and it is found that the wife led a promiscuous and adulterous life leading to the unfortunate family scuffle.”
“The allegation of attempted murder is completely baseless as the allegation was based on mere mishandling which was unavoidable as the situation became intense when the wife hurled venomous words unfit to be spoken to her own husband. In the course of detailing out the incident, it is found that the girl Ati has been dragged in as an ‘accomplice’ without any fault of hers,” the union’s note, appended by Secretary Asapu Thira stated.
The entire incident, the union asserted, “is not fit to be dubbed as an ‘attempt murder’ as has been falsely alleged.” The truth will eventually be revealed in time, the Kikruma Union said.
The union has appealed to all organizations and individuals to first verify the facts and circumstances that led to the event ‘before airing their views.’
“The allegation, whether it is actually that much serious or lame should be confirmed. This appeal in made is in the interest of communal harmony,” the union added.
