Dimapur, January 27 (MExN): A newborn baby (boy) was found dead near the bank of Dhansiri River on January 27. The Dy Commissioner of Police (Crime)/PRO, Dimapur, Nagaland in a press stated said that inquest was conducted upon the deceased.
The deceased body was found naked at the right side of the river bank of Dhansiri in a prone position floating above the water and was partially decomposed with swollen testicles and a black mark was also found behind the neck. A small bandage was also found tied on the umbilical cord, the Dimapur Police reported. After legal formalities, the dead body was taken to DHD morque for PM examination and identification, it added.
On examination of the witness, it was stated that the witness “along with two other children was cutting hay beside the river, during which one of the child spotted the dead body of the new born infant child.”
