DIMAPUR, MAY 22 (MExN): The newly elected President of the Dimapur Chamber of Commerce (DCC) Hokivi Chishi made his first press statement following his election on May 21, Saturday. The DCC President has thanked the District Administration of Dimapur for conducting the election process under democratic norms besides extending his heartfelt gratitude to the Frontal Business Organizations’ (FBO) under the leadership of its Convener, Dr. John Murry, General Secretary, Mrs. Khegholi, the Executives and the Advisers “for unanimously electing” him as the President of DCC.
“The confidence and the trust reposed upon me by the Business Community is a task which I shall shoulder with a sense of respect, responsibility and transparency. I assure that I shall give my best effort and time for the Business Community of Dimapur”, stated the press note. However, the new President also stated that the “herculean task of running the DCC is enormous and therefore, in order to facilitate smooth functioning of the DCC”, he appealed to the District Administration, Police, DMC, NGOs, Consumer Society and every individual to extend support and co-operation towards the DCC “without which it cannot progress”.
The newly elected DCC President has also thanked Kasheto Yepthomi, the former DCC President and his team for the efforts rendered to bring the DCC this far. “It is worth mentioning that the existence of the DCC was felt and its momentum gained only after he took over the reins of the DCC. This good work shall always remain as a source of encouragement for me as well as for the future leaders to come. Even in the days ahead, I look forward to his guidance to complete the unfinished chores if there are any”, stated the press note.
The tireless efforts extended by the Police, especially the SOT let by Shouka Kakheto, S.D.P.O. Dimapur in apprehending the culprits involved in the kidnap and murder case of a businessman in Dimapur recently has also been lauded.
The DCC President urged the SOT to leave no stone unturned to bring to book the absconding accused at the earliest so that the morale of the Business Community would be fully restored and strengthened.
At the same time, the DCC President has also appreciated the authorities of the NSCN/ GPRN for the termination order passed upon the perpetrators involved in the above mentioned case. “This should serve as a deterrent to any person or cadre of any faction who may try to abuse authority/ power for their own individual interests at the cost of human life”, stated the press note adding that the DCC shall always anticipate kind co-operation from every law enforcing agencies.
Pointing out that as the DCC was in its budding stage, the President further appealed to the State Govt. to extend every possible assistance in any form as and when the needs so arises. “DCC being a non-political body, I also appeal to the Hon’ble Legislators of Dimapur District, irrespective of political colour, to support and guide the DCC so that the economy of Dimapur in particular and Nagaland in general would soar to greater heights”, the press note concluded.
