The dedication ceremony for the newly elected councillors of Wokha Town Council took place today at the VDB Conference Hall, marking the official start of the council's duties on August 27. The event was attended by ADC Wokha, Renbomo Ezung.

Rev. Abemo Jungio, Pastor of Wokha Town Baptist Church (WTBC), bestowed blessings upon the councillors by offering prayers for their successful tenure.

In his address, ADC Renbomo Ezung praised the councillors for commencing their tenure with spiritual guidance. He expressed his satisfaction with this prayerful start, highlighting the importance of serving the community with compassion and making decisions that enhance societal well-being. Ezung emphasised the potential consequences of poor decisions and urged for development-oriented choices free from selfish motives.

He further encouraged the councillors to adopt a collaborative approach to decision-making, considering both team and community opinions rather than relying solely on individual viewpoints. Ezung advised them to carefully weigh the pros and cons of each decision and to focus on building trust and cooperation within the group. Recognising the potential challenges ahead, the ADC urged the team to remain resilient and persist in their efforts for progress, even in the face of difficulties.

Chairperson Khozamo Lotha noted that while the official appointment of the council is pending, the team's duties will commence next Tuesday. He affirmed the council's commitment to working with dedication and integrity, urging all members to adhere to the rules and perform their roles honestly.

Deputy Chairperson Nzano P. Kikon stated that the council's official responsibilities will begin next week. She reassured the community of the 15-member team's readiness to work diligently and called on citizens to contribute to the town's improvement.

The program was chaired by Zubenthung Jungio (HA, WTC) with an invocation by Mr. Nrikhon, Deacon. This was followed by a welcome address from Mrs. Tsenyani Lotha, UDA, WTC, who warmly greeted the attendees and a vote of thanks by Councilor Myingthungo Kikon.
