Zunheboto, April 13 (MExN): The inaugural programme of the recently recognised Nivishe village under Suruhuto constituency and Aghunato sub-division was graced by S Toiho Yeptho, MLA 33 AC Suruhuto as the chief guest on April 12. 

A press release from the PA to 33 AC MLA stated that addressing the gathering, MLA Toiho S Yeptho urged upon the “Sumis to abstain the use of GB rather to use ‘Akukau’ as our forefathers had been using.” He added that “the term Gaonbura was an understatement of ‘Akukau’ meaning ‘king of village’ and in Sumi traditional practices the person who establishes a village was the king of that village.”

During the occasion others who spoke were Deputy Commissioner Zunheboto, Rahul Bhanudas Mali, IAS; Dr Sukhato A Sema MLA 13 AC Pughoboto; I Nikheto Jimomi ,President Sumi Hoho; Qhutovi Achumi President SAKH; Akhevi GB Kathara and Yenito GB Achikuchu.

Earlier, the dedicatory prayer was said by Aoto, Chairman AACLF and the monolith was unveiled by the chief guest. The programme was chaired by Bokuto Pastor Nivishe with invocation by Kitoi, Pastor Achikuchu BC, welcome address by Nivishe, Head GB Nivishe village, vote of thanks by Honito Zhimomi and benediction by Inakali Yeptho, AWP Nivishe.
