Newly recruited NYV to undergo 15 days training

Kohima, October 27 (MExN): The Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) held its Nagaland batch of National Youth Volunteers (NYV) induction training at State Institute for Rural Development (SIRD), Kohima on October 22.
The induction programme was graced by Akumla Chuba, Director Youth Affairs and Sports; Alung Hansing, Secretary Youth Affairs and Sports and Jackie Ruivah, State Director NYKS Nagaland.
NYKS Nagaland, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, GoI has been harnessing youth power for nation building with the motto "Not me, but you."
Speaking on the occasion, Chuba motivated the NYVs by quoting Sherry Anderson, "Volunteers don't get paid, not because they are worthless, but because they are priceless."
Hansing also encouraged the newly recruited NKVs by highlighting the importance of being a volunteer and involvement at the village and community level.
The newly recruited NYVs will undergo a 15 days training which will equip them to work with youth clubs at the grassroot level for community development and youth empowerment.
