Dimapur, June 29 (MExN): The Editor of a news agency on June 28 demanded the Union Home Ministry to investigate into various misappropriations of SSA funds in Churachandpur district in Manipur by the District Programme Officer, CW, SSA and alleged that the officer is running a ‘swindling racket’ in collusion with other officials.
A letter addressed to the Union Home Minister, government of India, by the petitioner, Siamchinthang, the Editor of Zoland News Network which was also made available here, alleged that the Cashier of Zonal Education Officer and District Programme Officer of CH SAA/Churachandpur, Chin Ngain Pau Pau is indulging in corrupt practices of drawing and disbursing money without observing the fiscal regulations of the Indian government and official norms. The Editor alleged that the Zoland News Agency has got hold of some documents about the manipulating and misappropriating huge fund money meant for various developmental works; he gave a two page lists of civil works and other primary schools which are mostly half-complete though the dateline for the completions of the works is over last year.
“That, he was earlier found to have withdrawn Buildingless Upper Primary School fund of Churachandpur District, Manipur in June 26, 2006, and allegedly paid the amount to the illegal and unfounded beneficiaries and bogus calamity victims by this news agency-Zoland News Network (Enclosed District Demographic Profile)” the Editor alleged.
The Editor lamented that no punitive actions were taken in this regard against Chin Ngain Pau, much to the surprise and indignation of the public and the affected ‘natural calamity victims’ whatsoever.
The editor again alleged that emboldened by the act of financial irregularities and misappropriation of such a huge amount of public fund, Chin Ngain Pau has misappropriated half of the amount of Rs 43.5 lakhs under the BHC scheme for the financial year 2004-2007.
The Editor alleged that the said officer, Chin Ngain Pau manipulates the funds by ‘reportedly’ maintaining duplicate files to hood-wink the authourity and the affected tribal villagers. “That is to say, he runs and maintains a fund swindling racket in collusion with officials and the authourities who matter in the exercise,” the Editor alleged.
In this connection, the Editor of Zoland News Network, requested the Home ministry to kindly investigate into the matter and take appropriate actions against Chin Ngain Pau, the District Programme Officer, CW, SSA/Churachandpur on the ground of the above allegations and deliver justice.
