ANATG 2015 Batch informs units to convene meeting

Kohima, July 7 (MExN): The All Nagaland Adhoc Teachers’ Group (ANATG) 2015 Batch central team has directed all the districts/units to convene an emergency general meeting on July 10. “The unit executives are given the responsibility to call the meeting of all its general members and collect one photo copy of appointment order, passport size photograph and obtain official signature of every individual member,” stated a press release from ANATG 2015 Batch president, Rüguotsolie. “Any member failing to attend their respective unit general meeting shall be held responsible for his/her non-inclusion in the ANATG 2015 Batch,” it cautioned.    

Fresh fish products prohibited in Wokha

Wokha, July 7 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner of Wokha, Dr. Manazir Jeelani Samoon (IAS) has issued a notification prohibiting storage, distribution or sale of fresh fish products, including crustaceans treated with formalin or other forms of preservatives in Wokha district with immediate effect for a period of three months or till corrective measures are taken. Failure to comply with the provision of the Food Safety & Standards Act, 2006 and the notification will attract penalties upto Rs. 10 lakhs with imprisonment under section 59 of the Food Safety & Standards Act 2006, the DC cautioned. The notification has been issued in pursuance of government notification following seizure of fresh fish treated with formalin, which is highly toxic and injurious to health.    

State refresher training for paralegal volunteers

Kohima, July 7 (MExN): A two-day State refresher training for paralegal volunteers organized by the Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLSA) in collaboration with Control Arms Foundation of India and Multiple Action Research Group (MARG), New Delhi and supported by European Union will take place from July 9 to 10 at ATI, Kohima. Justice LS Jamir, judge, Gauhati High Court and executive chairman, NSLSA will grace the inaugural function at 9:15 am. NSLSA member secretary Mezivolu T. Therieh will chair the inaugural function, while keynote address will be delivered by Anju Talukdar, executive director MARG.    

Two alleged NSCN (IM) workers apprehended

Kohima, July 7 (MExN): Jarampur battalion of security forces apprehended two “over ground workers” of NSCN (IM) near Motongsa village in Arunachal Pradesh on July 3. According to a press release from Col C Konwer, PRO (Defence), the two are Khamchang Tikhak alias Michale and Babloo Tikhak, residents of New Longchong village. “The duo during spot interrogation admitted to being linked with NSCN (IM) and confessed to be working as OGWs for the group,” the release stated. It further alleged that the duo was also “actively involved” in extortion activities in Miao and Nampong circles.    

Social work at DPRO office Kiphire

Kiphire, July 7 (MExN): District Public Relations Office, Kiphire organised a mass social work at the office premises under the mission of ‘Aspirational District’ on July 7. DPRO Kiphire, K. Zeliang led the mass social work, which was conducted in order to maintain cleanliness in and around the office premises, said a DIPR report. Zeliang said the social work was also organised with an intention to create better understanding and coordination within the office. As per the NITI Aayog, the government recently launched ranking of 115 ‘Aspirational Districts’. Keeping this in mind, the DPRO Kiphire and different departments under Kiphire district organized social work in their respective offices.    

CCK aggrieved by member’s death

Kohima, July 7 (MExN): The Classic Club, Kohima (CCK) has expressed grief over the demise of Zaselatuo Solo, founding member of the club on July 4. In a condolence message, the club remembered the deceased as “a friend to all his colleagues, warm and supportive in all his dealings.” “Late Zaselatuo Solo was a person who stood tall amongst his equals. His strength lies in his modesty and humility with which he had endeared himself to all his colleagues,” stated CCK president, K. Neibou Sekhose and secretary, Khrietuo Belho. “A pillar of encouragement for many, especially for the Classic family, in his death, the Classic Club has lost a very fine member, which will always be recalled with regret and sadness.” CCK members saluted him for all he has done for the people and for the club in particular. They also prayed for comfort upon the bereaved family.
