One dies in vehicle accident Kohima, February 20 (MExN): One person was killed and another injured in a vehicular accident near Jotsoma village on Sunday. The cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained.     NSCN (R) expels one Deputy Kilonser Dimapur, February 20 (MExN): The NSCN (Reformation) has expelled one of its Deputy Kilonsers, Vinni Johnson of Shepoumaramth region from the national service with immediate effect for “indulgence in corruption and violation of certain Articles against the National Yehzabo of the government.” The NSCN (R) through a press release issued by its MIP further informed the general public not to entertain him under any circumstances for any purpose relating to government activities.     Liquor seized in Peren Peren, February 20 (MExN): 36 Assam Rifles recovered illicit liquor during a search operation in Mhainamtsi on February 16. Based on information about movement of arms dealer, 36 Assam Rifles had established a mobile vehicle check post along with a police representative on Sukhovi-Jalukie road, informed a press release from Assam Rifles. During the search, troops of Assam Rifles intercepted a vehicle and apprehended four persons with 331 bottles of illegal IMFL (Indian Made Foreign Liquor). They have been identified as Lunsa (43), Abon (37), Sapna (27), and Sara (36), all from Manipur’s Senapati district, according to the press release. The apprehended persons, the release said, confessed their involvement in transportation of illegal liquor from Assam to Nagaland. The individuals along with the recovered items were handed over to Jalukie Police Station, Peren district for further investigation.     DAN expresses sadness at former secretary’s death Dimapur, February 20 (MExN): Development Authority of Nagaland (DAN), Dimapur officers and staff have expressed sadness over the demise of their former secretary, Imkongangshi Yaden on February 13. DAN in a condolence message from Executive Officer, Noleto described late Yaden as a “true and real torch bearer” for the uplift of DAN and added that it was because of his sheer determination and conviction, DAN has attained higher heights of policies implementation for the welfare of the employees under his secretaryship (2009-13). DAN Secretary, I. Imtilep and staff while conveying condolences at this hour of grief to the bereaved family expressed that the authority will always stand by their side and assured cooperation. Further, DAN prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
