Hunting, forest burning banned in Khezhakeno Pfütsero, March 27 (MExN): Khezhakeno Village Council has notified that hunting, trapping, burning of forest in and around Khezhakeno jurisdiction will be strictly banned henceforth as per the 1st Annual Council Meeting held on March 13, 2017. Khezhakheno Village Council has also banned cutting of firewood and taking away of any kind of forest medicinal products as well as flora and fauna from the village reserved areas, according to a press release from the council chairman, S. Kepfelhou Ladu. Anyone found violating the above order will be penalized and fined Rs 25,000, the council warned.     AR seize liquor Wokha, March 27 (MExN): Troops of 28 Assam Rifles seized Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) being smuggled into Nagaland during a search operation at Foot Hill Road junction on March 26. The liquor, found hidden in Maruti Gypsy bearing registration number NL-10 3787, allegedly belonged to Nrano (40), informed a press release from Assam Rifles. The seized liquor totaled 728 bottles worth around Rs. 1.20 lakhs. The alleged owner of the liquor was handed over to Bhandari Police Station along with the seized liquor, while an FIR against the individual has been lodged, the AR added.
