Naga Council mourns Dimapur, April 21 (MExN): The Naga Council Dimapur has mourned the demise of late Merenzungla, mother of NCD President T. Bangerloba. “Her wonderful and gentle soul will forever remain in our hearts,” the NCD stated in a message. Expressing profound sorrow, the Council extended deepest sympathy and condolences to its president and to the family of Temlendangba. “May the Almighty God give you the peace that you seek and may our prayers ease the pain during this dark hour,” the message read. NCD further prayed for the departed soul to rest eternally in God’s kingdom. Elumyo Village bans hunting, fishing Wokha, April 21 (MExN): The Elumyo Village Council has imposed a ban/restriction on hunting and fishing in the village jurisdiction. A press release stating this informed that the ban on hunting will be effective from April to September 30. “Anybody violating the resolution will be imposed a fine of Rs. 5000 and their items will be seized,” the Council warned. The Village Council also imposed restrictions on the use of chemicals like bleaching and lime at rivulets and streams. Violators will be fined as per the Village Council resolution number 2 and 7, the release stated. FPS, village councils of Kohima informed Kohima, April 21 (MExN): The Inspector, Food & Civil Supplies has informed all the FPS and village councils of Kohima Centre that the PHH and AAY food-grains will be released from April 24 onwards between 10:30 am to 4:00 pm. A press release in this regard directed the concerned FPS/Village Councils to take note of the scheduled dates and collect their respective quota accordingly: Kohima Town FPS on April 24 and 25, Kohima Sadar and Secu Circle villages on April 26, Jakha Circle villages on April 27, Kezocha circle villages and Merema, Tsiese Basa & Bawe, Thizama and Rusoma on April 28. AR claims arrest of 2 NSCN (K) OGWs Tuensang, April 21 (MExN): The Assam Rifles today claimed that it arrested two over-ground workers (OGW) of the NSCN (K). According to a delayed report, the 40 AR claimed that it arrested the two from Tuensang on April 16 along with two .22 mm pistols with magazine and Rs. 30,320 in cash. The AR release identified the two as Toshi Kamzuk (28 years) and Samaho Sumi (23). The apprehended cadres along with recovered items were handed over to Tuensang Police Station on the same day, the release added. Aadhaar enrollment in Mokokchung withheld Mokokchung, April 21 (DIPR): Enrollment of Aadhaar for indigenous inhabitants of Mokokchung district which was scheduled to start from April 17 has been withheld till further order. SDO (C) Mokokchung in a press release said the enrollment was put on hold due to some technical related problem.
