Late date of GSTR3B extended New Delhi, January 21 (PTI): The revenue department said that the last date for GSTR-3B return filing for December has been extended by two days to January 22. GSTR-3B is a simple return form introduced by the CBEC after the roll out of the goods and services tax (GST) from July 1. It is meant to capture details of outward and inward supplies. The deadline to file the return for December in Form GSTR-3B was January 20. “The last date for filing return in FORM GSTR-3B for the month of December, 2017 has been extended by two days to 22nd January, 2018,” the Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC) said in a tweet. It is mandatory for all entities registered for the GST to file Form GSTR-3B. Google may sell audiobook on Play Store San Francisco, January 21 (IANS): In what could be a move to challenge Amazon’s domination in the market, Google might soon sell audiobooks on its Play Store, media reported. News portal 9to5google reported late on Saturday that a banner appeared on Google Play for several users stating that audiobooks were now available on Google Play. “At the time of publishing, that link doesn’s work and simply 404’s, but it seems to be appearing for all users both on the web and within the Google Play app on Android,” the report said. Although there is no concrete information regarding when the audiobooks would available on Googple Play but it is speculated that the tech giant would soon push audiobooks live in the store. To celebrate the arrival, Google’s banner also mentioned a deal which takes 50 per cent off the first audiobook that a user would purchase. Govt may tweak tax slabs, bring standard deduction: EY Survey New Delhi, January 21 (PTI): The government is likely to tweak income tax slabs and rates in Budget 2018-19 to bring down the burden on individuals, while there is unlikely to be any change in the current taxation of dividends, according to a survey by EY. In a pre-budget survey by tax consultant EY, a wide majority of 69 per cent of the respondents felt that the threshold limits for taxation would increase further in order to boost disposable income in the hands of the people. About 59 per cent of the respondents were of the view that multiple outdated deductions would be replaced with a standard deduction in order to reduce the tax burden of employees. The survey includes the views of 150 CFOs, tax heads and senior finance professionals and was conducted in January. About 48 per cent of the respondents said they expect the finance minister to lower corporate tax rate to 25 per cent, but the surcharge would continue. Most of the respondents (65 per cent) do not anticipate a change in the current taxation of dividends at this stage. About 24 per cent of the respondents feel that with a view to lowering the overall burden on the corporate sector, the government may lower the rate to 10 per cent. LR launches Range Rover Velar New Delhi, January 20 (IANS): Jaguar Land Rover India on Saturday launched its Range Rover Velar SUV in India with prices starting from Rs 78.83 lakh. The new edition is available in three powertrain options -- 2.0 l (litre) diesel, 2.0 l (litre) petrol and 3.0 l (litre) diesel, the company said. “The Velar was one of the most awaited luxury SUVs and with its addition, the Land Rover product portfolio has a luxury SUV for every customer need. The Velar will further strengthen Land Rover’s position in the overall Luxury SUV market in India,” said Rohit Suri, President and Managing Director, Jaguar Land Rover India. Talking about sales of JLR cars in India 2017 he said: “Jaguar Land Rover exponentially grew its business (in India) by 49 per cent in 2017... and we hope to do better in 2018.”
