PGC educates students, parents on semester system Phek, June 29 (MExN): With an aim to equip the students and to create awareness to the parents about the semester system, Phek Government College conducted one day orientation for under graduate (B.A/B.Sc) first semester students along with their parents on June 27 at the college administrative building. A press release from the Media Cell, Phek Government College informed that the Principal of the college, L. Mefutiba congratulated the new students for passing their class 12 exams. He encouraged the students to feel fortunate to be admitted in the college which has advantage of highly qualified and talented teachers. He further requested the students to be proactive in every co-curricular activity to make their stay in the college comfortable. Earlier, Shekhohu Chizo, Asst Prof, Department of Education chaired the programme, which ended with Nuthisa Rhakho, Asst Prof, Department of English thanking all the parents, faculty members and students for their participation. NVBDCP Monitoring & Supervision Team visit Wokha Wokha, June 29 (MExN): The NVBDCP Wokha district review meeting was conducted at Likya Community hall on June 28. The Monitoring & Supervision Team headed by SPO Dr. Kevichusa Medikhru from Directorate of Health & Family Welfare (NVBDCP) wing toured the health centres and attended the district review meeting. While addressing the issue on the hand, the malaria peaking season during monsoon with maximum breeding and infection, the SPO highlighted on the need-to do roles of every staffs and be pro-active in surveillance and to achieve above their targets, owing to that, No Work No Pay principle will be applied. He also stressed the negative effects of the use of DDT on health and Livestock’s because of its non degradable nature and its traces found in the agro- products. They also emphasizes on IDSP to increase on the regular reporting health units. The state consultants highlighted on the importance of stock reports and record keeping, The District Consultant presented the Malaria scenario of the district.
