SVSU appeals for replacement headmaster Kiphire, July 15 (MExN): Highlighting the sufferings of the students of Government High School Seyochung, the Seyochung Village Students Union (SVSU) has informed that the headmaster of the school was transferred 11 months back but no replacement has been made. In this regard, the union in a press release appealed the government to address the matter and provide a replacement as early as possible in the interest of the student community. Charging the government of neglecting remote areas, the SVSU cited an incident in which funds for the government high school building was sanctioned in 2011, but the constructing of the school building began more than five years later after much ado. Meanwhile, the SVSU informed that it launched its second social reformation on July 12 at Seyochung village. The reformation programme included inspecting of high school and planting of trees. Designation of police as election related officials Kohima, July 15 (DIPR): The Government of Nagaland has designated DIGP (Kohima Range) and all Police Personnel of the District of Kohima including Home Guards from the level of the Superintendent of Police down to the level of Constable as election related officials for the purpose of Section 28A of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, with immediate effect, July 14 till the completion of the Bye-election to the 10-Northern Angami-I (ST) AC. The Police Officials as stated above who are involved in any way in election related arrangements and perform duties in connection with the Conduct of Bye-election to 10-Northern Angami-I (ST) Assembly Constituency are, by law, Officers of the Election Commission, being deemed to be on deputation to it, and are subject to its control, superintendent and discipline and are answerable to the Election Commission for any acts of commission or omission on their part while performing any election related duties. World Population Control Fortnight in Mkg Mokokchung, July 15 (DIPR): The Medical Department is conducting World Population Control Fortnight in Mokokchung from July 11 to 24. The objective of the programme is to stabilize population growth in the country. According to DPO RCH & UIP, Mokokchung, Dr. Temsuyanger, the department has made arrangement in the District Hospital Mokokchung to provide free tubal ligation service and an incentive of Rs. 600/- for those who avail the service. The programme also includes free Copper T INSERT IGNOREion at Community Health Centre (CHCs) and Primary Health Centre (PHCs). Free treatment, pregnancy test for women, birth control pills and condoms can be availed from nearest health centres, including Sub-Centre and ASHAs. Consultation meeting for Independence Day held Kiphire, July 15 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner Kiphire Sedevikho Khro today convened a meeting at the DPDB Hall with the officers, institution head, DEF & paramilitary to plan out the work distribution and program for the celebration of the forthcoming Independence Day. Chairing the programme, the Deputy Commissioner welcomed the gathering and highlighted the objective of the meeting and also warned the gathering to take all national celebrations seriously and be a part by attending it. The DC also asked all the agri and allied department and other willing NGO or SHG to put up stalls during the celebrations. In this regard, a circular will be issued, he informed. Work distribution for the day was approved by the House. Members present also shared the opinion for the success of the programme.
