KMC directs shopkeepers Kohima, July 27 (MExN): The Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) has directed shopkeepers/businesses not to allow footpath vendors from selling products outside their shops/entrance to the shops. The KMC directive comes as a result of inconveniences being faced by pedestrians owing to occupation of maximum footpath space by vendors. “If any business/ shopkeeper/ owner allows the footpath vendors to sell their goods in their vicinity, they shall be held responsible and will be liable to be penalized as per the provisions in the Nagaland Municipal Act 2001,” the KMC cautioned. Also observing that footpath vendors constitute one of the main contributors of waste in the city, the KMC stated that the directive became necessary in order to keep Kohima Municipality clean. WSYF asks members to withdraw from DNYF Dimapur, July 27 (MExN): The Western Sumi Youth Front (WSYF) has directed bona fide Sumi members who are part of the Dimapur Naga Youth Front (DNYF) to immediately withdraw from the DNYF. A decision to this effect was taken during a meeting on July 25 at the WSH Office in Chekiye, a press release from the WSYF informed. “Any individual taking part in it shall be at his/her own risk,” the WSYF cautioned. No Sumi member shall take part in the DNYF till further notification from the apex body, it added. NSCN (IM) mourns Dimapur, July 27 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) has deeply mourned the untimely demise of MK Yekivi N Sumi, Razou Peyu of UT-1 on July 22 due to illness. He joined the national service as a “home comer” on May 29, 2017, a message from the NSCN (IM) stated. “The NSCN/GPRN shares the grief of the bereaved family and pray for solace at this time of sorrow, and also pray for the departed soul to rest in peace,” the message read.
