Kohima D Block Panchayat social work Kohima, August 3 (MExN): The D-Block Panchayat, Kohima along with women organization and the youth organization will be conducting mass social work on August 5, from 7AM onwards in view of the forthcoming Independence Day celebration. In a press note, the Panchayat informed that the social work would include cleaning/clearing of all the drainages/nullah and also cleaning their own surroundings and neighbourhood. The Panchayat Secretary Gilbert Patton has requested all the colony residents to participate the social work and bear with the inconveniences during social work. CNC condoles Dimapur, August 3 (MExN): The Council of Nagalim Churches has expressed deep anguish over the demise of Lt. Col. Hopeson Saka, who died after a brief illness. He was a dedicated worker and his contribution to national cause was unparalleled, CNC General Secretary, Rev. Seksim Kasar stated in a condolence note. “The CNC, on behalf of the Naga nation pay homage to the departed soul and offers its sincere condolence and sympathy to the bereaved family members and relative,” it added. Puliebadze Club 45th Foundation Day Kohima, August 3 (MExN): To mark its 45th Foundation Day, the Puliebadze Club, Jotsoma organised various programmes on August 1. In the morning session, the Club members conducted plantation drive along the approach road of Mt. Puliebadze where several seedlings were planted and also cleaned up the surroundings of previous year plantation. In the afternoon, a programme was held at the village Council Hall with senior member of the Club Pelevito Nakhro as the main speaker. The speaker urged upon the members to uphold the “Visions and Missions” of the club, including protection of environment and biodiversity, cleanliness, shunting of anti-social elements and other welfare measures for everyone. During the programme, Vizovoto Nagi, president of the Club handed over the Puliebadze Club Award, 2017 carrying citation and cash to Kuolavoü Peseyie for securing the highest mark in HSLC exam 2017 amongst the students from Jotsoma village. Kiphire Town Students' Union elects new officials Kiphire, August 3 (MExN): Kiphire Town Students' Union (KTSU) elected its new team of office bearers for the tenure 2017-2019 on July 20. The new office bearers will be led by Tsingtongri – President, Khumchoba – Vice President, I. Stefen – General Secretary. The Advisory board comprises of Dr. Holiba Anar and Litingse Yingphithongrü. The new team of KTSU has appealed to the denizens of Kiphire Town to extend cooperation and support towards the union.
