BJP Mandal tour programme held   Kohima, August 14 (MExN): BJP 15th Southern Angami II A/C conducted Mandal tour programme on August 5 at Viswema Village Council Hall with BJP Organizing Secretary i/c Nagaland Ananta Narayan Mishra as the main speaker. Mishra asserted that the party’s vision is solely for development and to uplift the downtrodden people of the State, according to a press release from the BJP, 15th Southern Angami II A/C president, Pusato Zecho. He also stated that BJP is not against any religion or culture, and that it stands against corruptions. Dr. V. Thinyo, i/c 15th Southern Angami II A/C and Tsasepi Sangtam i/c Kohima district also delivered short speeches.     CME cum review meeting in Phek   Phek, August 14 (MExN): CME cum review meeting of Medical Officers of Phek district was held on August 12 at District Hospital, Phek. Dr. Azo Louis Kharutso from District Hospital Phek spoke on the topic ‘Third stage labour complications and management’, while Dr. Wethselo Tsuhah, Pediatrician, District Hospital Phek spoke on the ‘Recent advances in newborn resuscitation.’ 23 Medical Officers took part in the CME session, which was attended by Dr. Kevilhulie Meyase, Deputy Registrar, Nagaland Medical Council (NMC) as observer.     LDLSA imparts legal aid   Longleng, August 14 (MExN): Longleng District Legal Services Authority (LDLSA) imparted legal aid on National Legal Services Authority Scheme 2015 at Lempong Hostel on August 8. The resource persons Mane Phom, Retainer Lawyer LDLSA spoke on child rights, Ahoshi APP Longleng spoke on POCSO, and Imlichuba Phom, PLV front office spoke on Legal Services Authority Act. Earlier, the welcome address was delivered by Yingli Omei, Hostel Superintendent, Lempong Hostel.     MVCC celebrates Fresher’s Day   Kohima, August 14 (MExN): Mountain View Christian College (MVCC) Kohima celebrated its Annual Fresher’s Day on August 11 at the college auditorium with Onentemjen Ao, principal of the college as the special guest. Onentemjen stressed on the motto of the college, ‘Gateway to the world service’. A special prayer for the freshers was said by the chaplain, Libo. Meanwhile, Aboto and Diekuolhounuo were declared as Mr and Miss Freshers 2017 respectively.     NU marks 75th year of Quit India Movement   Kohima, August 14 (MExN): On the directive of the MHRD and the UGC to commemorate the 75th year of Quit India Movement, Nagaland University organized the programme ‘Attainment through Resolve’ on August 9 by administering the New India pledge to the University community consisting of faculty members, students, and the non-teaching staff. The students, faculty, and administrative staff gathered in large strength in front of the main Administrative Building. The pledge in English was administered by Prof. A.K. Singh, while the pledge in Hindi was administered by Prof. Pardeshi Lal.     TWUD appoints more members   Dimapur, August 14 (MExN): The Tenyimi Women’s Union Dimapur (TWUD) in its general meeting on August 5 selected eight members to help the office bearers for the upcoming Tenyimi Women’s Day. The house decided that the eight members will be in finance committee. The house also appointed three more advisory board members.
