NH bandh in Akuluto & VK Area from August 17   DIMAPUR, AUGUST 14 (MExN): Six public organizations have reaffirmed their stand to impose an indefinite bandh, on all the roads under its jurisdiction i.e. National Highway 2 (from Izheto Village to Doyang Bridge VKTown) and National Highway 702 ( A) (from Sümi Settsü village to Zünheküta Akuluto Town) beginning 6:00am on August 17. The organizations imposing the bandh are Akuluto Area GB’s Association, Akuluto Town GB’s Council, VK Area GB’s Association, VK area Public organization, Akuluto Range Students’ Union and VK Range Students’ Union. A joint statement informed that military security forces and patients on medical ground are exempted from the preview of bandh. It meanwhile asked the public and students to bear with the inconvenience.     In protest, Sumo vehicles in Mokokchung to halt service from August 16   Mokokchung, August 14 (MExN): Sumo Drivers’ Union Mokokchung has resolved to stop plying of Sumo vehicles in Mokokchung district from August 16 until the matter of assault on a Sumo driver is settled. A press release from the drivers’ union president, Yanger and secretary, Ajung said that on August 12 evening, Takosenla and her aides physically assaulted and abused an “innocent” Sumo driver, for which, the Sumo Drivers’ Union Mokokchung summoned her to appear before the union on August 14 to settle the matter. However, she failed to turn up. Therefore, the decision to stop the Sumo services was made.     APO reminds tenants   Kohima, August 14 (MExN): Angami Public Organization (APO) has issued last reminder to all the shop owners and tenants of APO building, Kohima to be present at their respective shops on August 16 for inspection and discussion of building policies and regulations. There will be no further intimations of any kind and absentees at the meeting will not be entertained thereafter, stated a press release from Neisakholie Ziephru, Secy. Information & Publicity, APO.     Governor's Award in art, music, literature   Kohima, August 14 (MExN): The Department of Art and Culture, Nagaland has announced the following names for Governor's Award 2017 in the field of art, music and literature: Karo Trakha – Art (filmmaking); T. Mali Konyak – Art (handicraft); Guru Sangyusang Pongen – Music (folk); Guru Shiromong Anar – Music (folk dance/song).
