NNC welcomes decision not to sign NCA   Kohima, August 16 (MExN): The Naga National Council (Parent Body) has welcomed the “right political decision” taken in Yangon (Burma) at Myanmar Government’s Nationwide Cease-Fire Agreement (NCA) meeting by the people of Eastern Nagaland not to sign cease-fire agreement unless it covers the Eastern and Western Nagaland. “This is the wise political decision taken by our people of Eastern Nagas for the betterment of the Naga people as a whole as the Naga National Council from very beginning stood for the whole Naga inhabited areas for freedom,” stated a press release from Information & Publicity Wing, NNC. “The Naga National Council cannot part with our Eastern Naga people as we were and are one people politically, culturally, socially, religiously and geographically. This stand must be understood and supported by one and all politically as we march ahead for our freedom of recognition,” it added.     NSCN (IM) condemns raid   Hebron, August 16 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) has condemned the combined raid of the 23 Assam Rifles and 14 Sikh Regiment at the Zeilad Zeliangrong Region office of NSCN (IM) on August 14 “when GoI and the Nagas are so close from the final solution at the highest level.” In a press release issued by its MIP, NSCN (IM) demanded that in order to avoid “chaotic” environment, the arrested regional staff along with the confiscated arms, office files and other related matters be immediately released through the Ceasefire Monitoring Cell Office. Meanwhile, it lauded the timely intervention of several Zeliangrong organizations as well as the public of Longmai (Noney), Awangkhul, Khongsang, Raengpang and Nungba. “Their courage and selfless sacrifice again reaffirmed that Nagas’ political problem is a national issue,” it added. The NSCN (IM) also appreciated the efforts of the district administration for bringing normalcy within the region.     Bike recovered   Dimapur, August 16 (MExN): The UT-I of NSCN (IM) has found two wheelers (Hero Glamour bike bearing engine number JA06EFBGMO07861, chassis number MBLJA06FBMGN0091). The secretary UT-I in a press release has asked the rightful owner to claim the same from the UT-I office by producing proper documents.     Rainfall causes damages in New Jalukie Village   Jalukie, August 16 (MExN): The heavy rainfall that lashed Nagaland recently caused damages in New Jalukie Village under Peren district, according to a press release from chairmen of the village council and Village Disaster Management Authority. Culvert, approach road, paddy fields and suspension hanging bridge were damaged, it was stated. The press release appealed for immediate restoration of the same to normalize life of the villagers.     Seminar on Clean Election from biblical perspective   Wokha, August 16 (MExN): The Okotsoe Mission Society (OMS) organized one day seminar on Clean Election from the biblical perspective at Okotso village in Wokha district on August 13. About 300 people participated in the seminar, where a paper on the topic mentioned above was presented by Rev. J. Thungjamo Lotha, chairman of OMS. A press release from the OMS chairman informed that after the seminar, 81 participants pledged before God that: They will spend their time in prayer with fasting on the polling day; they will not sell their votes in the ensuing election; they will refrain themselves from nepotism in the ensuing election; they will refrain themselves from alcohol in the ensuing election; they will refrain themselves from quarrel and fight in the ensuing election.     Free coaching for Sumi NPSC aspirants   Dimapur, August 16 (MExN): The Western Sumi Students’ Union (WSSU) in collaboration with Discovery IAS Academy is organizing free one month crash course at Purana Bazaar Council Hall for all the intending 2017 NPSC applicants from Sumi community.
