DC Mokokchung cautions on maritime training recruitment

Mokokchung, February 5 (MExN): As per the directives of the Commissioner’s office, Nagaland, the Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung, Sachin Jaiswal, IAS, has cautioned students/candidates recruited through unregistered/unrecognized maritime/sea-faring training institutes/agencies or entities that such persons shall be doing so at their own risk in case any untoward incident happens. Such recruitment must be done only through Directorate General of Shipping (DGS) Licensed/Registered Recruitment and Placement Service (RPS) entities, the DC stated.  

KMC reminds on plastic carry bags

Kohima, February 5 (MExN): In continuation of its office notice issued vide even No.KMC/PCB-01/17-18/490 dated Kohima the 31st July 2017, Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) has directed all shops/business establishments to use 50 microns and above plastic carry bags except for compostable carry bags under its jurisdiction. KTS Enterprise is presently the only authorized vendor for provision of 50 microns and above plastic carry bags under Kohima Municipality and therefore all concerned are directed to procure from the said vendor until further order, stated a press release from KMC Administrator, Kethosituo Sekhose.  

MYO raffle draw postponed

Kohima, February 5 (MExN): Mezoma Youth Organisation (MYO) has informed that due to “unavoidable circumstances” the Raffle Draw in aid of MYO Building at Sechü Zubza, which was scheduled for February 7, has been postponed to February 24. Therefore, all concerned are requested to bear the inconvenience, MYO said in a press release. The venue and time will remain the same, it was informed.  

NPP constitutes State Election Committee

Dimapur, February 5 (MExN): The National People's Party (NPP) has constituted State Election Committee for the ensuing 13th Nagaland General Assembly Elections 2018. The Committee comprises of the following: Nillo Rengma – Chairman, Sasank Ghatraj – Member, Joshua Sumi – Member, Lima Jamir – Member, Ahoto Andrew – Member, Ringo Odyou – Member. This was informed in a press release from Conrad K. Sangma, national NPP president and Sasank Ghatraj, general secretary (Org.), NPP Nagaland unit.  

NPF officials of 5 Ghaspani-II A/C resign en masse

Dimapur, February 5 (MExN): All the executive officials of NPF, 5 Ghaspani-II A/C – parent body, mahila and youth wing – have resigned en masse and pledged their “utmost support” to Zhaleo Rio, NDPP candidate from the constituency, for the ensuing general election, according to a press release from Thejangukho Yalietsu, Press Secretary, NDPP, 5 Ghaspani-II A/C. “The officials together with over 8000 primary as well as active members declared to support him (Zhaleo) as he is the most capable, experienced and dynamic leader for the constituency at this juncture,” the release said. It further added that the supporters have vowed to work for the uplift and development of the area people under the leadership of MP Neiphiu Rio, Chief Ministerial candidate of NDPP.
