Sumi Hoho informs on nomenclature

Dimapur, October 4 (MExN): Sumi Hoho has reproduced the government’s notification regarding change of nomenclature from Sema to Sumi on the ground that some confusion arose out of change in the nomenclature, particularly during preparation of identification papers, bank accounts etc. According to a press release from Y. Vihoshe Muru, Vice President, Sumi Hoho, the notification NO.HOME/SCTA-16/94 Dated Kohima the 30th September 1995 issued by the Government of Nagaland, Home Department reads, “The Governor of Nagaland is pleased to decide that the name ‘SUMI’ shall replace ‘SEMA’ with immediate effect. Henceforth, the name SUMI shall be used in all official and non official correspondences”. Therefore, the Sumi Hoho has requested government agencies, banks and all concerned to accept Sumi as the official nomenclature of Sumi tribe.  

SPD invites to Tsokum Sumai

Dimapur, October 4 (MExN): The Sanglao Paopong Dimapur (SPD) has invited all its members to attend the Tsokum Sumai celebration at the residence of its treasurer, Sangthing (GB) at 5th Mile, Diphupar 'B' village on October 5, 9:30 am. The Paopong Hoikam Dimapur further extended warm greetings to all the Khiamniungans on the occasion of Tsokum Sumai, stated a press release from Haosi, vice president, SPD.  

Department of Agri bids farewell

Kohima, October 4 (MExN): The Department of Agriculture organized a farewell programme in honour of its retiring officers and staff in the conference hall of its Directorate on September 28. Helie Rupre-o, Director of Agriculture congratulated the retiring officers and staff Nosezole Zao, Joint Director, S. Sosangmar Jamir, Joint Director, Thepfulhuyazo, Dak, Runner and Neisakuolie Kire, Duftry for successful completion of 35 years service in the department. The service profiles of the officers and staff was read out by Imtitemjen L, Addl. Director-1, farewell speech on behalf of the department was delivered by N. Thungjamo Lotha, Addl. Director-II, and farewell song was presented by Directorate Staff.
