Seized drugs and liquor destroyed in Phek

Phek, October 30 (DIPR): Drugs and liquor seized under NLTP Act were produced before the Phek Court and destroyed by Destruction Board, Phek on October 28 after drawing samples for evidence. The following were destroyed during the exercise: Rum & whisky – 1719 bottles, whisky quarter – 188 bottles, canned beer – 2079, ganja – 240 kg.  

Summary revision of photo e-roll rescheduled in Mokokchung

Mokokchung, October 30 (DIPR): Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) and Electoral Registration Office (ERO), Mokokchung, Sachin Jaiswal has notified rescheduling of special summary revision of photo electoral roll with reference to 01-01-2018 as the qualifying date. The ADC & ERO said the house to house visits by BLOs will be conducted from November 15 to 30 extending the period for filling of claims and objections.  

JSSN general body meeting held

Dimapur, October 30 (MExN): Janjati Shiksha Samiti Nagaland (JSSN) held its general body meeting on October 28, where newly elected president of JSSN Walenniba Jamir nominated office bearers and members for 2017-20. Piyong Temjen Jamir and Director of REM Imna Temjen Along Longkumer were selected as patrons of JSS, informed a press release from the office secretary of JSSN. Janjati Shiksha Samiti Nagaland’s educational activities are for development of Nagaland, Along Longkumer said in the meeting. One of its unique projects is VB Infants’ Digital Home (Pre-children School). He further informed that the JSS skills development center is running well and now going to start tally for GST course.  

NSCN (IM) mourns demise of captain Pukho Lam

Dimapur, October 30 (MExN): NSCN (IM) has mourned the untimely demise of Captain Pukho Lam, Khiamnungan Region due to cardiac arrest at GHQ early morning of October 28. “At this moment of grief, the Government of the People’s Republic of Nagalim shares the sorrow with the bereaved family,” stated a condolence message from NSCN (IM) secretary.  

Two bikes recovered; owners asked to claim within 7 days

Dimapur, October 30 (MExN): NSCN (IM) UT-I has recovered two wheelers – Hero Honda CBZ bike (Black colour) bearing chassis number MKBLKC12EECGB04049, engine number KC12FDOGB17122; Bajaj Pulsar 220 (Black colour) bearing chassis number MD2A13EZ3ECB34367 and engine number DKZCEB25654. A press release from Ghokuto Chishi, UT-I secretary has asked the rightful owner to come and claim the same along with proper documents within 7 days from the UT-I office during office hour.
