NLA Speaker invites more to consultative meeting
Kohima, November 25 (MExN): With regard to the Nagaland Legislators’ Forum’s consultative meeting with the ex-parliamentarians and civil societies on Naga political issue scheduled for December 4 at the RCEMPA, Jotsoma at 11:00 am, a corrigendum has been issued saying the NLA Speaker Dr. Imtiwapang Aier has invited the presence of three members each from Nagaland Tribes Council (NTC) and Central Nagaland Tribes Council (CNTC) in the consultative meeting. “This corrigendum has been issued as in the earlier circulation the names have been missed inadvertently which is regretted,” stated Sungjemkala, OSD to Speaker, Nagaland Legislative Assembly.
License for stocking, selling fire crackers
Dimapur, November 25 (MExN): In accordance with Rule 84 of Explosive Rule, 2008 and circular issued by Chief Controller of Explosive, applications for temporary fireworks license will be issued at the office of the Commissioner of Police, Dimapur, according to a press release from Addl. Deputy Commissioner of Police/PRO, Dimapur. Interested parties to stock and sell fire crackers have been directed to obtain permits for the same, i.e., License in Form LE-5 after duly filling up Form AE-5. The license will be issued totally on a temporary basis and the last date for submission of the forms will be December 13, the release added.
Imtilemba to visit Longkhim
Tuensang, November 25 (MExN): Minister for Cooperation, Relief & Rehabilitation and Chairman for MARCOFED, Imtilemba Sangtam will be visiting Longkhim on November 28 on an official tour, a press release from the BJP informed. The Minister will be accompanied by BJP MLA & Adviser for Treasury Dr TM Lotha and host of senior BJP members.
Notice for Ahthibung-Khelma road repair
Peren, November 25 (MExN): All the commercial vehicle owners whose vehicles are plying from Ahthibung to Khelma have been informed to contribute in cash to Timber Union in-charge who has taken the responsibility to repair the road from Ahthibung to Khelma. The donation/contribution period will be from December 2017 till the last month of April 2018, stated a press release from Zeliang-Kuki Public Organisation (ZKPO) president, Lamjasei Singson and joint secretary, Mongsun. Those commercial vehicle owners who fail to contribute/donate shall not be allowed to ply, it cautioned, adding this decision was taken by ZKPO under Ahthibung-Kebai-Khelma circle “since the concerned department or the Government has totally failed to repair or maintain the road from the beginning of the year till date.” The press release mentioned that the road is one of the worse under Peren district.
NSCN (IM) clarifies
Dimapur, November 25 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) has clarified that the non-Nagas or “illegal immigrants” alleged to be NSCN (IM) cadres arrested with arms and ammunition, duplicate receipt book, and also controlled substances by Dimapur Police Crime Branch (CID) on November 11 are not its cadres. “GPRN is not surprised by such outrageous, wild and well framed charges with attitudes and designs,” stated a press release from MIP, NSCN (IM). “It is very unfortunate that organizations such as Dimapur Urban Council Chairman Federation (DUCCF) and Survival Nagaland (SN) without undertaking necessary steps to correctly identify the persons involved had gone hastily to the local print media to malign NSCN,” it said.
CMO Wokha informs departments
Dimapur, November 25 (MExN): Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Wokha has notified all the departmental HoDs under Wokha district that the service confirmation/invalidation of staffs under their respective office will be held on December 4 and 5 from 10:00 am onwards at the office of the Chief Medical Officer, Wokha. Therefore, the departments have been asked to send the staff list in advance.
Ex-PAN mourns former MLA’s demise
Kohima, November 25 (MExN): Ex-Parliamentarian Association of Nagaland (Ex-PAN) has mourned the demise of Kiyelho Sema, former Member of Nagaland Legislative Assembly. He passed away on November 21 in Dimapur after prolonged illness. A condolence message from Ex-PAN president, T. Khongo informed that Kiyelho joined politics in 1964 and was elected as Member of Nagaland Legislative Assembly in the First Assembly from Pughoboto A/C. “Late Kiyelho Sema was a dedicated leader who tirelessly worked for the upliftment of the people. His passing away is an irreparable loss to the State in general and the Semas in particular,” it added. “The valuable contributions he rendered to the people as a politician, social worker and statesman for the cause of the people will always be cherished.”

NPF & Cong workers join BJP
Mon, November 25 (MExN): Several “important” office bearers of Naga People’s Front (NPF) and Congress of 46 Assembly Constituency Mon have resigned from both Primary and Active memberships and merged with the BJP of the constituency, according to a press release. The release from BJP of the constituency claimed that the workers joined the party along with several households. They had joined BJP having faith in the leadership of Prime Minister Narender Modi, it was informed.
Waiting Shed in Jalukie
Peren, November 25 (DIPR): BDO, Kiengau inaugurated a waiting shed at the office premise of SDO (C), Jalukie on November 17.
